Our membership has grown to the point where hand delivery of notices is slow. E-mail provides a speedy and efficient way of spreading information about planning and parking consultations and vital police announcements, as well as social events like the Open Gardens Day. Often people with e-mail pass on important information or police warnings to vulnerable neighbours without e-mail facilities.
Our email network is a successful initiative to let people know about local events and current issues. We also send out specific warnings from the Police Safer Neighbourhood Team (e.g. of fraudulent “officials” knocking on doors in the area), and SNT requests for information (e.g. about sightings of suspect vehicles and fly tipping vans). It allows alerts to be sent out immediately, and the quick feed back of information from the network members has helped the SNT make arrests. Over 60% of our 800 members are on the network; do join - the larger the network, the more effective it is - contact.
If you would like to join our email network please reply to firstname.lastname@example.org giving your name and address. Only open to MapRA members;
