how to secure your home and keep yourself safe. Key points:
∑ Just look critically at the outside of your house/ flat, as if you were trying to break in
∑ Donít leave equipment (e.g. ladders, spades, iron bars) around, even in insecurely locked sheds
∑ Leave valuables out of sight; donít leave revealing empty boxes on their way to the dustbin or green bin.
Crime Prevention days. Monday 26th Jan, Friday 6th Feb; Thursday 19th Feb, 7th March, Sat 26th March etc. Various locations and times. see Leaflet for details.
Theft from motor vehicles,
Please ensure you never leave anything of value in your vehicles. It can take as little as 10 seconds for a thief to steal something from your car. If at all possible, leave nothing on view.
NEVER leave valuable items in your car, including sunglasses, the removable radio cover and your Sat Nav. Do you really need all those things you keep in the glove box?
Wipe away the Sat Nav mark on your windscreen.
Always: Close the windows and sunroof; lock the doors and activate any security devices when leaving your car unattended.
Never: Leave cash, credit cards, chequebook, mobile phones, vehicle documents or other valuables in the car.
