Queen Elizabeth. I’m not a great royalist but greatly respect her work in the role and feel personally surprisingly affected by her death. Remarkable, and typical of her resolve, that she was still able to stand and greet two Prime Ministers only two days before.

There has been a condolence book in St Gabriel’s church yesterday and today and available generally from Monday together with opportunity for prayer and reflection. More

There are also books of condolence in Brent libraries and the Civic Centre. An online book of condolence is also available along with the Royal Family's book of condolence. Should you wish to lay wreaths or flowers, you can do so in the Paul Daisley Garden next to Brent Civic Centre. More

64 St Gabriel’s Road. The piece of land after no 64 St Gabriels Road is coming up for sale at auction on September 22. There is a danger that it will be bought by a developer seeking to put a house on it. (which however, would most likely, but not certainly!,be refused by Council). One of our members, Andree Cooke, believes that most people in the area would wish the land to remain undeveloped and that the trees on the land are also retained. He has a vision for the area to become a communal allotment for the community. If  others share that vision, and are willing to share in bidding for the land to ensure that (likely to need £150k in total); please contact him at: cookeandree@gmail.com  or phone 07905 170 370

Autumn Quiz nightWest Hampstead. 24 September  7.15pm. All welcome. More
