Vaccine bus dates

Next dates for the vaccine bus:

  • Friday 18 June 10am-130pm, 15 Brondesbury Road, NW6 6AS
  • Thursday 24th June – 10am-1pm near Cricklewood Library
  • Thursday 24th June – 2:30pm-6pm – in the square, Oaklands Road
  • Thursday 1st July - 10am-1:30pm – in the square, Oaklands Road

It offers Oxford Astrazeneca vaccine to residents over the age of 40 years for their first dose or anyone over the age of 18 years, for their second dose (8 weeks apart).
Residents do not need to book, can come along and speak to the clinical staff and take their vaccine;

Mapesbury Fete

Saturday 3rd July from 2-5pm. Instead of our usual Open Gardens gay this year we are having a small fete;  
  • With a Plant Sale – with lots of good bargains – at 60-62 Teignmouth Rd
  • And with a White Elephant Stall and Raffle, Cake Stall and Refreshments at the Old Vicarage and St Gabriel’s Church.
No need for tickets in advance; any money raised will be donated to local foodbanks and Ashford Place. Details to be clarified later but save the date.
 
We are, of course looking for cake bakers;  if anyone might be able to donate a home baked cake or biscuits, could they please contact Anne on 07985 218113. And also any donations to the white elephant stall.

Walnut

New whole food shop in Willesden Green, 78 Walm Lane, with organic, vegan, gluten free and natural options. Open till 11pm. Good addition to local shopping.

Filming at the Mosque

28 -30 June. A TV company (HTM TV) will be filming scenes for a new drama inside and outside the Mosque. The show is ‘Trigger Point’ a drama about explosives officers in the Met Police; from the makers of ‘Line of Duty’ and ‘Bodyguard’. They’ll need to close Station parade from 9am to 6pm each day (they will be suspending parking bays on station parade between Blenheim Gardens and Cranhurst Road). On the Monday when they are filming outside, if you are walking past you may be asked wait a few minutes so they can complete a take. Any queries to Brent at  020 8917 4837 or filming @brent.gov.uk
Brent Solidarity Fund

Small cash grants to anyone in Brent who is struggling for money, to help people buy the things they need. It’s organised by people from Mutual Aid groups across the borough. More on link
