B&Q site - public inquiry.  The public inquiry into the planning application begins on Tuesday 14 February at 10:00 am, at the Town Hall, Hendon, NW4 4BQ. Montreaux applied to build up to 18 storeys high on the B&Q site. Barnet's planning committee voted to approve it but before Barnet Council issued the decision, the Secretary of State decided to call it in; to make the decision advised by Planning Inspectorate inquiry. MapRA is represented at the enquiry as we are part of the "Rule 6" group; others are NorthWestTwo Residents Association (who are leading); the Railway Terraces Residents Association, Cricklewood Groves Residents Association, Golders Green Estate Residents Association.

If you want to attend they ask that contact the case officer (Alison Dyson alison.dyson@planninginspectorate.gov.uk 0303 444 5304. However, there is likely to be enough space anyway. It will help us to have some support.

The timetable is rather vague and flexible in the second week, but so far is is:
  • Tuesday 14 Feb: Opening, statements from applicants, Barnet, us and others
  • Wednesday afternoon: presentation for applicants
  • Thursday: discussion of heritage, design etc
  • Friday: discussion of conditions and section 106 agreements
  • Wednesday 22 Feb: Transport. Evidence of Councillor Young, chair of Barnet strategic planning committee
  • Thursday: Us. Evidence for applicants
  • Friday 24: continued. Closing speeches.
There's a web page of all the documents (evidence, statements including ours, policies, all sorts) on Barnet's website here. It’s a lot of stuff.
