Omicron scam

The diabetes clinic  ..

.. in the basement of the Central Mosque on 4 Feb was a great success. Some 200 visitors had their blood sugar, blood pressure and BMI measured, with expert medical advice on hand to advise on any problems, diabetes or weight, that those checks revealed. NHS medics and people from Brent Council's Brent Matters operation were delighted with turnout, and the smooth running of the event. Particularly pleased was Dr Raja Amjid Riaz, the NHS surgeon and mosque trustee who was the driving force behind the clinic. He said 'It's just the first in what will be a series of clinics targeting diabetes, the killer condition that so many ignore',

Reporting crime.

Often at our Police Ward Panel meeting people raise issues with the local police, who then find out that they haven’t been reported to the police. Our local police wish to stress the importance of reporting all issues via phone 101, or online on Met.police.uk. (Don't report crime by emailing SNT). If crimes aren’t reported they won’t be able to follow up, close out or link to other crimes in the area.

Councillor Lia Colacicco.

Lia, who is one of our councillors and currently Brent Mayor, is standing down at the next election because of ill-health. I hope it is not political to say that we in MapRA wish her well. (she is a long standing member of our committee). She says it has been an honour and a privilege to serve this incredibly diverse ward. Part of her is looking forward to hanging up her ‘Gamekeeper’s tweeds’ and returning to being a rebellious poacher!
