The Metropolitan Public Gardens Association has a new project (you may be aware they run the hugely successful Bulbs for London initiative); they will distribute young, disease resistant, elm trees across London. This is to encourage landowners, park managers, schools, community and friends groups, and garden designers to join them to bring the project to fruition. It is hoped that it will appeal to the public in view of its history and to promote this iconic tree within the environment especially with its wildlife benefits.
