Missing boy. Pleased to report that the Leopold has been found safe and well.
Heat Wave One is besieged with advice about the heat wave on Monday and Tuesday. But take sensible precautions; (advice on NHS website) don’t travel if you can avoid it. check before you travel And check on neighbours and friends especially if old or vulnerable..
Garden clearing .

At the request of local Police to improve security, a team of volunteers from St Gabriels’ Church,led by local vicar James Yates, and supported by Veolia, pruned two very overgrown trees in a garden off Anson Road two weeks ago. Great community work.
Anson school concert went very well; the school hall was packed with adults and children and the varied musical programme of talented musicians was much enjoyed by everyone.  Afterwards there was a party atmosphere as  the school choir, the musicians and audience enjoyed drinks and refreshments.    Maggie thanks everyone who contributed financially and helped practically - making this a very successful event; raising £2030 for the Amber Trust charity.
Parking Permits A member reports that Brent Councils residential parking permit has not been working properly and has been overcharging for low emission and electric cars. He was quoted £267 to renew online for an electric car rather than the £25 it should have been. It took an hour to sort it out on the phone. If it has happened to you in the past you can e-mail brent.permits@serco.com to query an old booking and get a credit.
Vaccination Bus. Friday 22 and 29 July. First and second vaccinations are available for all including children 5 to 11. 1pm-6pm Oaklands Road, Cricklewood.
New Clinic
There is a plan (funded by NCIL grant) to provide a prefab clinic on land between the Station Parade Mosque and the tube tracks. The new wheelchair-accessible, clinic will offer:
*  Vaccination services for all ages, likely starting with Covid19 boosters but extending into the full, clinically-advised, range;
*  Diabetes 2 testing, advice and referral to hospitals if needed;
*  COPD testing, advice and referral to hospitals if needed;
*  Saturday and Sunday GP sessions, when many practices are closed, again with hospital referral if clinically required.
Photographs of crime scene
Local police commander, Sara Leach sent the message below (abbreviated by me) about the police response to the recommendations of the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) into the taking of photographs and acting on the missing persons’ report following the murders of Nicole Smallman and Bibaa Henry, which have been published last week. The IOPC news statement is here
“The IOPC report has led to changes in how Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) managers tackle unprofessional behaviour in the ranks. Whilst the incident took place on North West area, the officers involved were from North East BCU and many of the initial recommendations were directed there. However wider steps have been taken across the Met to ensure that all officers and staff members have been briefed on standards, challenging others and professionalism. We have made significant changes to improve our standards and culture. The IOPC recommendations for the Met have been implemented.”
Street Safe. Police initiative

#Streetsafe can help police identify areas that need improving and work towards making streets safe for everyone. People can report anonymously to the police, the areas where they feel unsafe.  For more information and telling police areas where you don’t feel safe, please go to website: www.police.uk/streetsafe

Anti-social behaviour consultation

Brent .has gathered views about anti-social behaviour and now want to consult on whether you agree to particular rules being put in place to tackle those issues. They propose merging three Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) into one with varying rules for each of the three areas:-

  • Borough wide
  • Parks, open spaces, cemeteries and graveyards
  • Wembley Park (specifically rules around Wembley Stadium Events)

Your feedback will help shape the PSPO which gives council key workers and the police the powers to crack down on anti-social behaviour.  You can view the full list of rules for each of the current PSPOs here. Have your say before 18 August 2022.
