Knife Crime Advice from local Police

Kids face all sorts of pressures and it may be that your child is in contact with friends who carry knives.  - It can be a tricky conversation but worth having with your child. It is illegal to carry a knife if there is intent to use it, even defensively, as a weapon.  Even if the knife belongs to someone else, such as a friend or a boyfriend. By carrying a knife you:
  • Have a false sense of security;
  • Could be arming your attacker, increasing the risk of getting stabbed or injured;
  • Are breaking the law

Suspicious activity

In last week’s email about reporting suspicious activity was included Rough Sleeping. I was taken to task about this as people sleeping rough are in difficult circumstances and it is probably wrong to denote it at Anti-Social behaviour. The website shows that reporting rough sleepers will get relayed to the Street Link organisation (phone 0300 500 0914)
