Lost Keys and revision

A member has found keys (about 7 of them) on a wall in Hoveden Road yesterday (Monday). Let me know if they may be yours.

Sexual offences

Police have had reports about sexual offences that have occurred in the Cricklewood area. A male has been arrested on 13/03/2021 for sexual touching and exposure. While in custody he has been sectioned under the mental health act and the investigation is currently still ongoing. Police ask you to remain vigilant and report any issues that concern you to police.

Book your COVID-19 vaccination

Appointments are now open for Brent residents aged 50 and over, or who are the main carer for an older or vulnerable person, to book their first COVID-19 vaccination at one of the six large vaccination centres in north-west London. Green Bin renewal

A member reminds us that renewal of the green bin service for 2020/21 expires soon – I think need to renew by 31 march but website not clear. Veolia/Brent don’t send reminders out! Details

History request

Could anyone who has an old picture of Willesden Green, and especially of any notable houses in the area, pre-1945, and would be happy for the Willesden Green Town Team to copy them onto their new website (suitably acknowledged), please let Elayne Coakes know. elayne.coakes@btinternet.com. They are  looking for any photos of the manor houses especially Willesden Manor, Mapesbury Manor, Brondesbury Manor, and Heathfield Manor or Lodges.
And any other old postcards of the area. (Please don’t send photocopies from books as they can’t use those as need full permission to use any pictures)

History of West Hampstead
The next GoWestHampstead Zoom talk is by Tudor Allen, Camden’s Senior Archivist. Friday March 26th, 7.30pm. tickets from Eventbrite, £6 a head, (concs £3 for benefits). Back by popular request, Tudor is well known as a speaker on local history and should be a well-illustrated and presented talk.

Update from Cricklewood library (link) / help with zoom

And the Library offers free help with zoom. (for keeping in contact with friends and family, joining in with meetings, attending religious services, etc). Trained volunteers from Cricklewood Library can help you to install Zoom and will demonstrate how to set up and join meetings. They will talk you through step by step until you feel confident. (You will need an internet connection and a PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone.) Contact Annie on annie@cricklewoodlibrary.org.uk
