Scam. A member had a call purporting to be about “my bank in Cricklewood Broadway”. It then started to get round to names of her ex-bank and then current one, with credible detail.  She gave no info except to try to put them off by saying she didn’t bank in Cricklewood but Willesden. Probably shouldn’t have even said that! But fortunately she then rang off.

Windmill Court devt

There is a devt proposal (ref 21/2473) from the Council (to be managed by Network Homes) to build 2 new blocks around Windmill Court. One to replace the low flats of Windmill Court and  Claire Court on the South side; another of 11 storeys on the access road. There is increasing concern that this is overdevelopment and impacts the character of the area.

Brent Council are consulting again with the residents of Windmill Court and local residents. If you would like to get information and make views known there is an online session via Microsoft Teams on Thursday 2nd December from 7pm-8pm.  If you would like to join the online session, please reply to  Sidi.Buhari@networkhomes.org.uk and he will send you a team’s invite.

Autumn Nights

Since 25th October 21, Brent Police have run an Operation called Autumn Nights to tackle Robberies and Burglaries conducted on the Borough. It was conducted daily during late shifts until midnight. Officers patrolled Brent using a variety of methods which included vehicles, pedal cycles and hi-viz foot patrols. Since the start of the Operation Brent has seen over a 40% decrease in the amount of Burglaries reported to Police. There was also a drop in the number of Robberies reported.  As the Winter arrives residents and commuters should still remain vigilant as the days get shorter and nights longer. Please take precautions when leaving any property empty by using timer lights and alarms etc. For more crime prevention advice please visit: https://www.met.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/

Bike from Burglary

A member’s garage was broken into a few weeks ago now - they made a mess and took a variety of things. But in the process she acquired a pink ladies bike! Presumably from some other burglary. She doesn’t want to be in possession of a stolen bike and would like to get it back to it's owner. If it is you, let me know.

Thanks all

Maggie and Peter Chambers thank people who bought cards and presents stuff in their Xmas sale. They have made £360 donated to the Amber trust.
