Deadline has been extended to 3 June but the site is still open for online comments at link. There are now some 1820 comments including over 1750 objections.

Mapesbury Spring Clean

Decided to postpone our spring clean from tomorrow to Sunday 20 June when fewer people are away for half term.

COVID vaccine available to those 30 and over

You can book your COVID-19 vaccination now if you are aged 30 and over, would usually be offered an NHS flu vaccine or are a carer for an older or vulnerable person.

You can book your vaccination online. Visit www.brent.gov.uk/vaccine for up-to-date details of when and where you can get vaccinated (depending on vaccine availability).

There is a vaccine bus in our area offering Oxford Astrazeneca vaccine to residents over the age of 40 years for their first dose or anyone over the age of 18 years, for their second dose (8 weeks apart). Residents do not need to book, can come along and speak to the clinical staff and take their vaccine:

  • Tuesday 8 June 10am -1.30pm; Oaklands Road NW2 6DP (near Post Office
  • Tuesday 8 June 3pm – 6pm, 15 Brondesbury Road , NW6 6AS
  • Friday 18 June 10am-130pm, 15 Brondesbury Road, NW6 6AS

Decca Studios and Klooks Kleek

West Hampstead's Musical Heritage. Friday 25 June 7.30pm. Online talk organised by Community Association West Hampstead (CAWH). Dick Weindling will talk about the Decca Studios in Broadhurst Gardens where thousands of records were made from the 1930s to 1980. Artists such as The Rolling Stones, Tom Jones, and the Moody Blues all recorded at the studios.And next door was Klooks Kleek, the wonderfully named jazz and blues club, held at the Railway Hotel in West Hampstead from 1961 to 1970. Keep Britain Tidy hosted an audience of partiamentarians at a meeting of Tidt Britain, Ocena Conservation and Microplastics APPGs to discuss what a world leading Deposit Return Scheme should look like in the UK. More about Deposit Return Scheme here
