New message from Police Chief Superintendent, Dan Knowles about actions on neighbourhood policing being taken on Sir Mark Rowley's turnaround plan. “From March, twenty new Superintendents will join the 12 existing local policing leads, meaning each of London’s 32 boroughs will have their own senior policing lead for local neighbourhood policing. This decision has been taken as part of our overhaul of the current neighbourhood policing model, as part of our priority to deliver the strongest ever neighbourhood policing, delivering change, transformation, and to help achieve our mission of More Trust, Less Crime and High Standards. This year, we aim to recruit 500 more Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) to work across London, as well as consideration being given to enhance our PCSO’s powers empowering them to drive problem solving and tackle crime locally alongside their police officer colleagues. I’m sure you will agree that this will make a real difference to our joint-working on issues such as local crime, anti-social behaviour and solving local problems.”
