Vaccination update

Slight correction to last notice. The mosque vaccination site days and timings have changed for the month of Ramadan until 11th May. There will be two evening vaccination sessions on Monday and Thursdays from 9-10pm and Fridays 10-1pm. The mosque vaccination site is open to all Brent residents and vaccination appointments can be booked by email to centralmosqueofbrent@gmail.com or calling 03000 339952.

Arrests

On Friday in the early morning officers stopped and searched a suspicious vehicle and found a handgun, ammunition and quantity of cannabis. Both males in the car were arrested. A further handgun was found during the search of a suspect’s home address.

And on Wednesday twelve people were arrested as officers made a drug raid on 16 addresses in North West London in an operation targeting violent criminals linked to the supply of firearms and drugs. The suspects, aged between 17 and 27, were identified following almost 18 months of investigation by the Met’s North West Basic Command Unit. Police also seized class A and B drugs, cash, drug distribution equipment and multiple mobile phones believed to have been used to organise illegal transactions from the addresses in Brent.

Locksmith scams

Every day the Master Locksmiths Association receive stories and complaints about people masquerading as locksmiths. At best, rogues will do a substandard job or overcharge after initially quoting a cheaper price in a tactic known as ‘bait and switch’. They also often display threatening behaviour and have even been known to withhold keys to locks they’ve fitted. The ‘Whichreport shows the tell-tale signs of a rogue locksmith.
