| Brent Local Plan Scoping Consultation Brent’s scoping consultation for the new Local Plan is open until 11:59pm on the 30th of September 2026. (apologies that didn’t send sooner Gerry). The scoping consultation is the first consultation stage in preparing the new Local Plan. At this stage, we are asking all stakeholders: What the Local Plan should contain How they would like to be involved in the plan-making process General ideas about what the plan should look like and say The Local Plan is the council’s main planning document. It helps decide where new homes, jobs and services should go, how development should look and function and what infrastructure is needed, such as schools, transport and parks. Feedback will help inform the next stage of the plan. To take part in the Scoping Consultation. Have Your Say Call for Sites Consultation Alongside the scoping consultation, Brent are running a Call for Sites consultation, inviting landowners, developers, agents, community groups and residents to suggest sites that may be suitable for development. This will be open until 11:59pm 31st December 2026. Take part in the Call for Sites Consultation via the Council’s engagement platform, Have Your Say (Please be aware that any response to the consultation may be made publicly available, in accordance with Brent’s privacy statement. Open Gardens Day 2027 has now been set for 20th June and the committee are starting to look for suitable gardens to include. The gardens don’t have to be perfect, or any particular style, they are just looking for a range of interesting gardens. They try each time to have a percentage of gardens that opened last time around and a percentage of new gardens that haven’t opened before. Beware screen-sharing scammers posing as banks Screen-sharing scammers are posing as banks to steal sensitive information. These scams typically begin with a phone call, where the fraudster attempts to move you to a video call and trick you into sharing your screen with them. If screen-sharing is enabled, scammers can see what’s displayed on your phone, including notifications of one-time passwords sent by banks to authorise payments. “Which Magazine” expert explains and the tactics fraudsters use to con you.
