Local Police Some issues that came up at the recent meeting with local Police Safer Neighbourhood team (SNT): Thefts of delivered packages from front doors and front gardens. PCSO Ajay Dokia advised that where groups of residents are able to obtain video or photographic evidence, gather the relevant crime reference numbers, collate the information and then present it to the police together, there is a stronger prospect of the matter being investigated and progressed. There is a practical challenge in identifying, arresting and pursuing individuals suspected of a single theft involving an item perceived to be of relatively low value. Residents with tall front hedges are encouraged to reduce their height, as overgrown hedging can obscure criminal activity and give offenders more time to break in without being seen. There has been a significant reduction in anti-social behaviour and drug-related offending since the last report. There has been a significant improvement in relation to burglary across the ward through the sustained efforts of the SNT in tackling both residential and commercial burglaries. It was noted that, with the addition of a new vehicle and further operational resources, the team has been able to respond more effectively and maintain a visible and proactive presence, which has contributed to a reduction in offending.

Reminder: MapRA AGM,  7 for 730 ,  St Gabriel’s church; refreshments. Hustings for Council elections. Stalls covering Council issues and local organisations.
Current Local planning applications.  We aren’t getting notifications from council; sorting this out. (apparently some-one, whom we don’t know, wrote to Council purporting to write on our behalf and the Council then changed to send her the normal notices!
