John was 96 and for many years ran many MapRA activities; History club, Walking group, Bridge club as well as supporting Margaret in her work on the Open Gardens. He was a great member of our community and I’m sure that those many of you who knew him will be very sorry to hear of his passing. Willesden Green has been selected for this summer (15 June 2026 – September 2026). Movable planters, temporary hay-bale seating, decorative bunting and lighting will be introduced between Willesden Green Tube Station, Station Parade and Poplars Avenue to encourage people to pause, sit and stay longer into the evening. Events include 10 programmed busking and cultural performance sessions, with lunch, after-work and evening offers promoted through ‘Today in Willesden Green’ boards. Nest Café pavement garden Member Caroline Woollard thanks all who have contributed to re-planting the Nest Café pavement space at Willesden Green station. They have enough now to replace the broken planters, re-pot the surviving plants and replace the dead ones. The team of volunteers who look after the station garden and other planters through #willesdengreentownteam have offered to help with the planting. RPO tickets.
